Camel Ride

One of the highlights of my life was riding a camel in Egypt. Ok, so maybe it isn't a highlight of my life, but it was pretty awesome. To get to the place we had to cross the Nile. I don't know what I imagined the Nile to be like, but it is absolutely disgusting. We had a little dance party on our boat while crossing. There are few things better than seeing your professor dance like an egyptian. Camels are really awkward animals. I hopped on and almost got bucked off when he was standing up. Our trip started in a little city and our camels were causing a traffic jam. It was pretty funny. We then went out into the country side. I got to feed it a banana that my guide picked from a tree. My back was a little sore, but the ride was definitely worth it.

Camels are awesome. One time my sister Melinda was in Cairo with my dad, and she rode a camel named "Champion." What was your camel's name, Jordan? Or are you too embarrassed to tell? Was it Gertrude?

My camel was named fox. Some of the others had more interesting names like Shakespeare, Bob Marley, and other famous soccer players. Mine was kind of slow and it was kind of sad when my little guide kid had to whip it to go faster. Fox was a trooper. If I ever get a camel I think that I will name him Fox in honor of my first humpbacked friend.
